About Annie

As a fellow human being, I deeply understand our universal need to feel safe, accepted, and valued. In a world that often tells us we’re not enough, I am here to firmly remind you that you are — whole, capable, and worthy. Whether I’m working with individuals, couples, or families, my approach centers on uncovering and amplifying each client’s unique strengths, empowering them to live fully and authentically.

My clinical experience spans a broad spectrum—from supporting children and adolescents facing severe mental health challenges, to guiding adults through addiction recovery, to helping couples and families cultivate deeper, more loving connections. Across all these settings, my goal remains the same: to create a secure, nonjudgmental space where clients can share their authentic selves, heal wounds from the past, and build the skills to become the best versions of themselves.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the Gottman Method for couples therapy, both of which I have found to be highly effective frameworks for achieving meaningful change. That said, I prioritize collaboration and flexibility, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs of every client I have the privilege to support.

I hold a BA in Psychology from San Diego State University, as well as an MA and PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. My dissertation research explored addiction within the military population, fueling my passion for systemic work in both addiction and military communities. I am committed to walking alongside my clients on their journey toward healing and growth with empathy, expertise, and unwavering dedication.

Annie's Approach

Annie’s therapeutic approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and individualized care. She believes that healing and growth happen most effectively within a safe and trusting relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. Utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method for couples, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR (Level 1), she tailors treatment to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual, couple, or family.

With experience across diverse treatment settings—including outpatient addiction programs, community services, and educational environments—she is skilled in managing a wide range of symptom presentations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Her passion lies in addressing addiction through relational therapy, particularly within military populations, and she integrates current research to provide systemic, effective care.

Whether facilitating women’s empowerment workshops, supervising trainees, or coordinating with case managers and medical professionals, Annie prioritizes open communication, professionalism, and holistic support. Her goal is to help clients develop practical tools and insights that foster lasting change, personal growth, and stronger relationships.
