About Natalie

Hello, my name is Natalie, and I’m so grateful you’re taking the time to read my biography. My path to becoming a therapist was anything but traditional. As the child of Armenian immigrants, I was encouraged to pursue a career in medicine. I studied chemistry in college, and after four rigorous years, I realized—on graduation day, no less—that becoming a doctor wasn’t the vocation God had in mind for me. Convenient timing, right?

After some soul-searching, I was reminded of what I had learned working in student services during college. I loved helping people. I also realized that my own experiences with mental health gave me insight into how to support college students through similar challenges. This realization led me to co-author The Miracle Morning for College Students—part of the bestselling Miracle Morning series—along with two companion books.

Several years later, I began a master’s program in counseling to pursue my license as a therapist. During graduate school, I provided therapy to children and teens (ages 6–18) in elementary, middle, and high schools. I focused on helping them build coping skills, self-esteem, and emotional intelligence to navigate the challenges of growing up. I also worked closely with families and school staff to create supportive systems that foster resilience. In addition, I had the honor of working with veterans—particularly those facing PTSD—helping them process trauma and develop emotional regulation strategies to support their transition back to civilian life.

Through ongoing discernment, I came to recognize a deeper calling: to become a faith-based therapist. I integrate my lifelong faith and clinical training to provide spiritually-informed therapy to both secular and religious clients who wish to incorporate their faith into the healing process. As an Armenian Catholic, I also bring cultural sensitivity to my work, honoring the unique lived experiences of each client.

Today, I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD/scrupulosity, grief, and trauma. I use an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and psychodynamic methods to meet the individual needs of each client. With care, kindness, and humor (when appropriate), I accompany each person on their therapeutic journey as we work toward a life of healing and joy.

Outside of therapy, I love spending time with family and friends, running with my dog, giving back to my community, traveling, and learning new languages. These passions keep me grounded and connected to what matters most. If you’d like to connect further, I’d be happy to answer any questions or have a conversation with you!

Natalie’s Approach

Natalie blends compassion and practical strategies to help clients build confidence, resolve conflicts, and achieve lasting personal growth. Through a strengths-based approach, she encourages clients to take active roles in their own healing process, fostering a sense of agency and self-efficacy. By combining cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, she works with clients to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, set achievable goals, and develop practical solutions to overcome obstacles. Her approach is collaborative, working with clients to create actionable steps that drive meaningful change.

In addition to practical strategies, Natalie integrates deep, insight-oriented psychoanalytic therapy to help clients explore unconscious patterns and unresolved emotional conflicts that may be contributing to current challenges. By uncovering the root causes of issues, she helps clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their behaviors. This approach promotes long-term healing and growth, creating space for clients to not only address immediate concerns but also to achieve lasting emotional balance and peace.

I brought my daughter to see Natalie and the change has been remarkable! She is a lot more like her free-spirited self, which is how she was before she became depressed. I appreciate how Natalie incorporates her background in youth development and her therapeutic expertise in building resilience and self-esteem in young clients. My daughter now has stronger coping skills and a renewed sense of confidence, and I’m grateful for Natalie’s continued support.

As a veteran dealing with PTSD, I’ve seen a number of therapists over the years, but Natalie’s approach stands out. I feel more in control of my emotions and better equipped to face life’s challenges, thanks to Natalie’s experience with individuals like myself. I’ve highly recommended her to family and friends.

Natalie helped me see how I kept getting stuck in the same, recurring issues. I am thankful that she was slow and patient with me, but also knew when to challenge me so I could arrive at a different perspective. I see clearly now how I got in my own way. Ever since, life has not been the same. Thank you, Natalie!
